Can I clone a 1TB SSD to a 500GB SSD

The 1TB has only 250GB used. Can I clone that to the 500GB? Tried Macrium Reflect and MiniTool both say destination disk isnt big enough. Thanks

I expect the free cut down versions of Acronis from seagate and wd will also do the job.

It depends. Does the 1TB drive have less than 500GB of data on it? If so, you will need to move data off that drive to get the used space below 500GB and then you will be able to clone it to a smaller drive.

Thanks Strollin I guess you mean 'more'. As per my post it has only 250gb used and cloning doesnt work.

I am using v15 - can't see much difference from v14. I can't remember having used it for cloning, but the functions are there
