Stuck in a bootloop. Can't enter Safe-mode. The error I'm getting is a fraction of a second BSOD that I had to record with a phone and play back frame by frame to read, which is...

HTML:
STOP: 0x0000007B (0xFFFFF880009A9928, 0XFFFFFFFFC0000034, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000)

Things I've already tried...

1. Start-up repair
2. Bootrec

And several other methods, such has using the lazesoft tool, but to no avail. More ideas welcomed.

I have WinPE and I can see my files and folders and back them up. However, I have very important data on several installed softwares which I would also like to backup in a way that when I reinstall Windows and the apps again, I would be able to open those apps and see my files. Is that possible?

[Windows 7 64]

You can use Robocopy from a command prompt to backup your essential files. Command prompt is accessible from a Repair CD or Installation CD.

To help with the BSOD, you need the crash dump files, and you would be better advised to start a new question in the BSOD help and support forum of this website.

Hope that helps.

First, did you install any new hardware or an update for a program, a driver, etc since this happened? Notice an anti-virus update?

What are the names of the programs that have your data that you need extracted?

Also, the word software is both plural and singular. It's not 'softwares.'

Have you made any changes in bios? Check and see if it is set to ahci or ide.

Have you added anything with new drivers?

Do you have restore point to a time before youi had the problem?

Do you have an image backup?

Do you have copies of the hives in windows\system32\config\regback ?

You can borrow my boot media so you can see what you are doing
17514x64v14.iso

It is best to extract the iso to create a bootable usb using something like this: View attachment Usb7ice.zip

As a final resort, you can install windows without formatting the target partition and ( if there is enough space)

the existing windows namespace folders will be moved to a folder called windows.old which you can access afterwards.

First, did you install any new hardware or an update for a program, a driver, etc since this happened? Notice an anti-virus update?

It started after creating a Linux bootable USB, I noticed that at start up I got an error message from avastui.exe "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005) Click Ok to close the application."

The creation of the bootable USB might have had nothing to do with it and was probably just a coincidence.

To fix the issue, I reinstalled Avast, without first uninstalling it.

Later when I tried to install mirc, I got an error message that it could not complete the installation. I thought "hmm weird"...and restarted the computer.

At the "Windows starting" screen, it went back to restart, showing me the recovery menu screen.

I selected safe mode but it would still not start...but rather again restart and go back to the recovery menu.

Here is the result of 'sfc /scannow /offbootdir=d:\ /offwindir=d:\windows'

Also attached is the result of Farbar Recovery Scan Tool.

What are the names of the programs that have your data that you need extracted?

Too many. I can't remember all of them since some I stopped using and was holding off migrating the data to other software I started using.

Also, the word software is both plural and singular. It's not 'softwares.'

Noted.

Excellent point. No I haven't. My searches keep on leading me to a solution of changing the sata mode from AHCI to IDE but I can't do that because my BIOS' (Insydeh20 / Rev. 3.5 / F.29) Advanced setting is hidden.

Have you added anything with new drivers?

No I haven't. One of my GPUs is 'loose' though. Happened after dropping the laptop. So whenever I started Windows, the screen would get pixelated/green. Physically pressing down on the keyboard area (the spot where the GPU is located) would remedy the issue. Letting go returned things to pixelated. So what I used to do was to deactivate the GPU (ATI) from device manager every startup.

I'm not sure if this could have caused this issue - although this started long after the GPU problem.

Do you have restore point to a time before youi had the problem?

I'm pretty sure I did, but I don't see them through Windows installation disk.

Do you have an image backup?

Yes and no. I do, but I don't trust it's updated. I remember turning the automatic backup off a few days before this happening because it was taking up too much space.

Do you have copies of the hives in windows\system32\config\regback ?

Yes.

Thanks! Is that PE? Got one already. What are you suggesting I do there?

Sounds like a good last report plan. Any instructions on how to do this?

It sounds like you have a GPU issue.

I was going to suggest a repair install, however, youse all are correct, that will only work from within a loaded/booted Windows. Guys, Gals, what about the OP doing a cloning or drive backup or partitions backup -- onto external SSD or HDD before any further troubleshooting, would that be a good idea for preserving the many 3rd party programs' data pots? Ooops, just remembered, a 2nd computer would be needed to create the necessary Macrium Reflect or EaseUS Todo or AOMEI Backupper boot sticks or DVDs.
