Runtime error When trying to install SAMSUNG MAGICIAN 6.2.1 !

I have 3 samsung ssds and was using magician without any problem till 6.2.1.

uninstalled 5.2.0 and then tried to install newest one but getting this error;

Runtime Error (at 179:4008)
could not call proc.

Any idea???

Using non updated win7 64bit.

The fact that your version of Windows is not up to date could be the reason. For instance the runtime error might be related to an out of date C++ redistributable.

Sadly no cuz updating to sp1 is pretty tricky for me. Downloaded sp1 for my language but its not upgrading somehow so i gave up...

It will effect all my future buying options for ssds, nvmes till win10...

My processor is only i5 3540 and i dont know if i feel ok with it if i update win10.

MySSDs 860 evo, 850 pro, 840 pro...( + Wd sn550 but not working or detected by my system)

If I update, will i be smooth as much as win7 at win 10 ?

You shouldn't have to find SP1 for your particular language. All you need to do is run the Windows Updater from Control Panel. Is that what you're doing?

Os installed with patch in 2013.When I tried to update it gave weird errors, simplix didnt work too. And cuz of ssd i never need any upgrade or update. Using Playstation for games. Only nvme ssds and some software problems making me push to update os.

But now I need to find out to update netframework 4.6 without any wu

In general I find Win10 runs at least as well, and generally better than Win7 did on the same hardware. I have it running well on an older i5 than yours, an i5-520M.

PCI Express 2.0 x16 1 @x4

I will use with adapter ofcourse and best speed will be at pcie 3.0 right?

For the download try this: Download .NET (Linux, macOS, and Windows) Select the 4.8 framework runtime. You don't need the dev pack.

Depending on the source of SP1, it might not have all the updates.

You can get .net framework 4.6.2 from Microsoft here- https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53344

It doesn't require using Windows update.

Your Win 7 key should be in Control Panel system.

There are other repair steps you can try first. See this guide. Repair Vista Options - Preferred Sequence | Vista Forums it is for Vista but applies also to 7.

I also have an 840 EVO Samsung magician installing error 179: 4008 !

But I have Windows 7 SP1 plus installed Net 4.7 but still the damn shitty Magician installer refuses giving the same error over and over!
My Samsung EVO 840 works but it started failing on the Magician installed program AFTER I ran the Windows Repair program trying to fix my "nmi error 3" I get at boot.

The Microsoft help on their website is never any help at all. Worse they are the reason so many times it doesn't work! And neither was this webpage when I followed the given sollutions that are no help either!

I'm sorry but I don't know anything their software. There might be a bug. I would contact Samsung support.

I was finally able to fix it!

I used chkdisk and all available fix solutions on a PC-WELT 02-2014 Boot CD from Lazesoft 2014.
After that also my boot error "nmi 3 error" was gone!
And Magician van Samsung worked again! I re-installed version 4.x because 6.2 refused to install!
And I made a safety system backup of my C:/ boot SSD drive with the same PC-Welt boot CD.
