Upgraded Hardware...Mfg Driver's May Mismatch?

Is my system hardware 32 bit or 64 bit?

I hope I'm not using 32 bit hardware to run a 64 bit Windows.
(See updated System Spec's)

I'm now using a Dell that shipped with Window's Vista Business via the COA sticker in the battery compartment.

When I got it a few day's ago, It booted into Windows 10 Pro.

I was able to install Windows 7 HP (SP1) 64 bit.

When I went driver hunting, Dell doesn't provide 64 bit driver's for a Latitude E5400 running Windows Vista.

They provide driver's for...

your system is 64 bit, thats determined by the OS install media.

Based on its age, your actually quite lucky, why because MS included a fair amount of drivers in the ISO driver repository.

You will be missing the Dell bloatware drivers, BONUS.

all you really need todo is open up the device driver menu, and see whats missing, marked with a yellow !. or unknown

I don't know if this is caused by these missing driver's, but the system seems to be locking up while I'm multi-tasking 3 or 4 things.

I seem to need to do a "hard restart" when it seems to lock up (freeze up, not even saying "not responding")

Gonna run chkdsk and install speccy and see what they report.

In device manager, there is only 2 items that match missing, a yellow sign, or marked unknown.

They have a yellow sign...

Are they needed?

i've got about 50Gb of stuff on mine, only about 12 programmes, so your kinda low on disk space.

I suspect the 12gb is likely windows updates, please run disk cleanup.

I opened task manager and performance monitor and noticed windows update was constantly running.

Updates, I use Simplix.
Ran Simplix 3 days ago Then installed NET Framework 4.8 from Windows Update.
NET Framework 4.0 or higher is needed to automatically set the system specs here using internet explorer.

nothing much standing out in speccy....

I do see you have Hibernation enabled, that does eat up allocated space
if you dont need it turn it off. I dont use sleep either so thats gone on my rig

The speccy report, are the temperature's ok?
What are the "safe" temperature ranges?

How do I disable/delete sleep?

In "phone home" programs, auto-updates...what other features is best to have set to manual or disabled?

Not a temps guy but based on the speccy report anything above 50 is pushing the envelope.

the tutorial does not explicitely show delete sleep settings, please check each heading, under power and then Advanced

All 3rd party software you have installed is likely to use this option, this includes Browsers, google etc
