If so, then all you do is rt click on the slp.cmd and run as admin

There is something really screwy here

The comp is definately an HP machine..... nothing to do with Dell, even tho you said you used an old Dell SSD,,,it should have been wiped --- Dell/HP machines have totally different Product activation keys and drivers ... UNWIPED the install would likely have thrown numerous errors!!!

There are 2 Office products install codes present 2003/2007 but these would not give the OS non-genuine error

The desktop is a HP but the previous computer that I had Win 7 Pro on was a dell. I thought I bought that key online also, so not sure why MS thinks its related to Dell, except that it was associated with the former computer.

the MS validation servers have counted the number of installs per Key, and once a specific number was reached they, MS, blocked the key which has what has happened here

Win7 activation

Still having a problem activating a previously functional Win 7 computer, downgraded on purchase from VISTA Home Premium. I've gotten a number of apparently valid keys from several online sellers, and WIN activation reports keys are not valid. I found a key checking program online that reports they are all valid. I suspect the keys cam from China and are OEM keys sold to one of the Chinese laptop companies, or they are all counterfeit. Here's an example of the MGADIAG output showing the correct key was entered but the activation failed for an invalid license. Any help is greatly appreciated.

thats the old version of Mgadiag....but it does give me the relevent details
1) the product key in use was "lifted" from another comp ----- product key TYPE 8
2) the machine only has Vista SLIC table entries
3) SIW2 is correct its an SLP key

there also appears to be a Problem with Office 2003.......

I thought it was a series of retail keys but I"m beginning to think they are OEM keys. Here's teh MGAreport from the updated version in the link you sent. I don't know what a SLP key is.

Office is working fine; I have the original disks and installed from them, and installed an update from another disk set and file.

The system was purchased with VISTA installed and I downgraded to WIN 7 Pro. I did a fair amount of equipment switching including hard disks and added wifi capability. Originally it was an ethernet connection. The Win 7 Pro I installed worked fine for 8 or 9 years, and I have the original key, which MS reports is "blocked." If there are other questions created by the report below or these comments, please let me know.
