Firefox 115 is now the last version supported on Windows 7.

Updates will be delivered through the ESR channel until the end of February 2026.
After that, users should upgrade their operating system to continue receiving Firefox security and feature updates.

Rly likes mozilla/firefox even more than microsoft/ie ...
good old days...

The last one that supported Windows 7 has come to an end.
It was good while it lasted...
Stay well...

Yeah the best I can tell. 115.33.0esr is the last update I'm expecting, and already have.

Regardless, I too am switching to R3dfox, though the portable version. To speed up the switchover, you can delete it's profile folder, and replace it with the one from Firefox 115esr, then what remains is a bit of GUI tweaking to make it look like the FF it's replacing... depending on how much you modified FF, though there's something something about a different rendering engine or whatever, the significance being that some GUI elements may still need tweaked if you're picky about it.

Those are in the Chrome folder, userChrome.css and userContent.css. IIRC there's also a setting in about:config that needs toggled for R3dfox to use these two files, though if you had set Firefox to do so previously, that setting may be inherited by R3dfox when you copy the profile folder to it.

The boxes I have running Win7 aren't changing OS any time soon. :) Since there's more than one, once I had the R3dfox portable tweaked, can just copy that folder over to any of them to use.

Personally, if you're running Win7 x32, the change I'd make would be to switch to Win7 x64 and put some more memory in that system. Win7 is still extremely usable with more than 4GB memory... depending on what software (version) you want/need to run on it.

Nope. Support extended 6 months.

Mozilla will provide security updates for Firefox 115 ESR until the end of August 2026. It was previously announced that support would end in February 2026, but in order to ensure our users can continue to browse the web, we will extend support another six months and re-evaluate. After that, if support is not extended, users should upgrade their operating system to continue receiving Firefox security and feature updates.

I already moved on to R3dfox (portable version) but a word of warning...

I had some version, let's say it was v148, associated and working as the default web browser on a Win7 system.

I decided to try v151, in it's own portable folder. During a period of lack of sleep, wanting to make it be the default instead of the older version, in the settings menu I clicked Make Default Browser. DO NOT DO THAT!

Once again, it scrambled all my Taskbar custom folder icons with the fix being the steps I outlined in a post on this forum a while back, but that I've now added to with a preventative measure to back up those icons/placement registry entries ahead of time.

I had R3dfox 151 installed but now I have 140 esr. Not the portable version either. I haven't had any problems with it except for youtube. I even made it my default. If I can't fix that I'll probably end up keeping Firefox. I'll try a new blank profile for troubleshooting when I have time. I actually prefer it to FF 115. It has a wider default size for one thing. It's going to stay on 7. I still have FF 140 ESR on Windows 10. I tested multiple browsers on a website I found a site that tests browser unanimity and as far as I can interpret it had a better score than FF 115. I don't think I tested 140. I like that it's still updated although it's harder to update than FF.
