How to ignore false positive, Avast.

Hi, me again.

I have just done my first full system scan with Avast and it has found a false positive trojan . I know what the program is, and want to keep it, but Avast does not give me an option to do so . I thought that by filling out the false positive report i would be o.k, but not so.

Any ideas, please.

Hi black dog,

If you run the program there is an entry in the settings to add exclusions - just add your program to the list - if you need to exclude a folder or similar you can enter a mask

Could you possibly tell us what the program is that it picks up as a FP, so we'll all know?

The Forum rules don't allow me to mention it . Its the kind of thing that is often seen to be a Trojan by AV progs, but is not .

The program in itself may not be the culprit that Avast sees as a Trojan, but rather the file that was downloaded. I certainly wouldn't count it as a 'false/positive' without checking with jotti:
