Filter for fan area on case

Please, if you know of a product to filter these 120mm fan "openings" let me know. I have looked and looked. I have thought about making my own from nylon stockings, but I don't want to do this. I'm sure there is a product somewhere that is made to filter these. I do not plan to install fans here, I need the openings filtered. Any links to products in the US would be great. Thanks. I cannot believe I am looking for help with this but....I am.

This is the first thing I did. I even ordered two different kinds and they are made to fit ON FANS. That's the problem.

I suppose I will have to find some regular bolts and washers and just use something like this.

I was hoping someone had the same issue and had found a filter that is made bolt on the case itself.

I ordered these and they fit on fans no cases.

I can figure something out with these but there has to be "case filters" out there as opposed to "fan filters" (I guess I have never searched using those terms)

Both of those should fit on the opening if they match - 80mm or 120mm - as they cover a fan. As for a case, I'm not too sure.

I'm not at all sure those openings help cooling at all, at least if you have a decent fan setup at all.

In my case, they contributed to the perceived noise level of my PC, so I just covered them entirely. Noise went down noticeably and temperatures did not rise.

They come with the standard "fan screws" that fit onto fans. They don't fit on the openings on the filter itself, and the holes don't go all the way through....therefore I would have to drill the hole all the way through and find a bolt, nut, and washer to fit.

This is why I asked for some help. I can't imagine I'm the only one to run into this.

you may have more luck checking with general electrical enclosure manufacturers than the computer suppliers - Am on the wrong side of the pond to give you specifics but somewhere that supplies components to general electrical hobbyists is the sort of place I was thinking of.

Perhaps some type of plastic clip that would stick onto the case. Then you could take something like a piece of corrugated cardboard, cut out the center leaving just a cardboard ring. Then, cover the ring with some nylon stocking and then slide the filter over the fan openings and secure it via the plastic clips.

What I did was to take an old refrigerator magnet, cut it into this strips, and used them to hold a piece of tissue paper over the fan openings. Of course you would need a metal case. :)

Works a charm.

Hmmmmm, this is good stuff and I may try something like this, but on a client system it does not look professional to show up with tissue paper and magnets. I am thinking about the perception of the people I have built these for.....
