How to download a utube or video

I have a new HP and when trying to burn a utube with Realplayer, it says that it won't fit. What does that mean? The utube is only 3 some minutes long.

What are you trying to burn it to the DVD as? Just a file? A movie?

Only difference is capacity. DVD 4.3 gigs, cd ~700 megs. A 3 minute you tube should fit on either. I suspect a problem with the app you are using to burn it.

Please understand that I want to get the utube, or video to a dvd or cd and the ReallPlayer won't do it. I downloaded the VideoCacheView and it pulls up some videos, including the one I want. But, how do I get the slelected one onto the dvd?

They are basically a marketing company for following your surfing habits,
Check out their privacy policy and dump them as soon as possible..

Or if you want a free program without the watermark, use AllToAvi.
If you want to burn the file as a DVD to watch on a stand alone DVD player (it'll look like crap unless you downloaded the HD .mp4 version), open Windows Media Centre, scroll down to tasks, burn cd/dvd

Install Shark007's codec pack for better file format support within Media Centre.
You may stil need to convert your youtube file (.flv) using AllToAvi first

This is all too much trouble. I downloaded several things and none worked. I suppose at some time in the future this will get sorted out, but you guys that are up on this stuff can mess with this. Reminds me of the time I was taking a Dos class in college. I told the instructor that it was too much trouble and she glared at me. I think the issue is that no matter how user friendly these computers become we keep asking more and that drives development, but there is always some issue that needs attention. Or, it doesn't. If I can't conveniently burn a dvd from utube so be it. Merry x-mas everyone.

I used to just use Nero to burn files as a DVD, but being as my copy of Nero is now outdated I thought I'd have a look into another program that would do the job...
I found a program on sourceforge called DVD Flick, which is open source (free, but donations are welcome) and does support flash video files like the ones on youtube.
I downloaded it and tested it on my system with an flv, and it works well
There's also a decent guide on how to burn your DVD's
The only problem that I had (and it's easily fixed) was that by default the program doesn't burn direct to DVD, it only saves the DVD folders to your hard drive. To fix this, click Project Settings - Burning, and check the burn to DVD box (see screenshot)

I got it to work. A combination of RealPlayer, Prism Video Converter and Express Burn.
A little of this, a little of that, and it did work. Don't remember what the combination was though. G

DVD Flick will convert a youtube video to DVD, I tested it out and it works well
