FireFOX 3.5.5 hangs also IE8 hangs

i really didnt know where to put this software debugging or what.. So i put it here ima sorry guys if this is the wrong spot. On my AMD turion II m500 laptop my IE8 and Firefox both hang constantly Same ie8 build and firefox build as well as win7 build on my desktop and laptop. But my desktop is fine and i have all my add-ons enabled. But i tried disabling my add-ons on me laptop to stop my browsers from hanging and i thought that worked. But tonight they are both still doing it i can barely even start IE8 firefox will allow a few minutes. Whats going on? any help would be appreciated. Thanks admins for such a great site btw. Beats going to MS or OEM...

Your specs don't list the manufacture and model # of the laptop. Does it pass win7 compatibility testing?

Its a brand new laptop. the turion II m500 is a new AMD dual core that features intels 45nm technology. Yea it was shipped with windows 7 from OEM. So i dunno why its doing this. I see nothing that should be causing it since i have disabled all add-ons and everything in an attempt to correct the problem, but to no avail..

Hi and welcome

go to search type eventvwr. goto the windows logs>applications tab. You need to look for errors (they have red in the left hand column) that have app hang, app crash, IE, or FF in them.

when you find them (there is a lot of date) use the built in snipping tool (type snipping in search) to make a screen shot. Upload it to us using the attachment icon (shaped like a paperclip) to upload it to us.

Here you go. I've noticed that other things are hanging as well, but these four are constant and IE8/Firefox are very repeated in the event list as an error Also would like to add. I noticed that everytime i shut down well, about 90% of the time. My explorer.exe wont shut down due to trying to play log off music. Thanks for all your help..

Ah this drives me nuts. I can;t hardly do anything on my laptop because i have to keep rebooting to get things to work for a short time.

I have the exact same problem. When I load up the internet again, it works fine until I try to watch a video or play a flash game. It hangs and I have to quit the browser. It does this until I restart my laptop, then it is fine for awhile. My laptop also does the explorer.exe won't shut down because it's trying to play the logoff sound thing.
