Windows Media center crashes after upgrading to Winows 7 OS. It does not even get to the set-up screen. A black square fills up half the screen and continuously flashes on and off. Must use task manager to exit. Had no problems with Vista. There must be a conflicting file somewhere or a bad registry entry.
Any suggestions?

Hi bengy and welcome

We could use a bit more info. Upgrade, not clean install, correct? 32 bit or 64? Have you tried launching WMC in safe mode (F8) to see if it might be a video driver

Thanks for your interest.
It was an upgrade from Vista, 32 bit. I used safe mode and WMC runs fine, except of course you can not tune the TV card or connect to the Internet. When re-booted the same problem occurs. So how do you isolate the conflicting files?
I don't want to do a clean install. I have a DEll Dimension 9200 computer but can't get any help from them as my computer is out of warranty.

Go to the Dell Support site, enter your Service Tag, and review the updates available. Their self help section often leads to a resolution and is available out of warranty on many newer PC's.

Can't find any help for Windows Media Centre here.
