Snow Leopord VS Win 7 Ultimate

MAC or PC

I have noticed that people who own Apple products are stuck up and they reckon they have the fastest, latest technology.
They must be doing (d) to think that. Mac's are way too overpriced, they trick customers into paying more because it's the latest and greatest product (Apparantly ). Can't build your own Mac eh, can you :p.

Yes, you can aka. a hackintosh thats against the law sorta;):geek::p:cry:

Hey I make it publicly known what I run on my PC. Until the cops come to my door saying I'm arrested for illegal use of OS X. I'll do what I like with it! They can't say I stole it either since my sister gave me her copy of Snow Leopard. So I legally own it. :)

Make it public lol, I have Snow Lepoard on a Dell Mini 9 I got my hands on its working great, are you doing a dual boot or do you have a dedicated comp?

I dual-boot Windows 7 and OS X 10.6.2 on this laptop (HP Dv5-1235dx). Though I currently have OS X uninstalled as I kept running into an issue with wireless. Waiting for a kext dedicated for Snow Leopard, for my Broadcom card. The Leopard one doesn't quite cut it.

Anyways lets not turn this thread into a Hackintosh discussion thread. :)

Actually yeah you can build a system dedicated to running OS X. If you get the right hardware you can get a pretty good machine (for less money then a real Mac) going with absolutely no issues at all. :)

Mac is way expensive and well their hardware is not as well made as they used to be....Apple is cutting corners too, nowadays.

Macintosh is really expensive and in my opinion Windows costs less, and to me it's just easier to get around and use for everyday things so I think it's better. My school has macs and I hate them, but they are really old and slow. I just get lost with macs though because I've always used Windows.

Been using PC since 1999, then got a mac last year and it was ok nothing special it cost £1000, I sold that and made a custom pc with win 7, am I happy, to right for that price ive built a brill machine with core i5 4gb ddr3 24" monitor and Lian-Li case, 4890 GC its loads more the power. the reason I switced all to briefly to Mac was to see what the fuss was about and then I met the apple fan boys, what a bunch of friggin losers, class example
my sisters pc is playing up (as ive posted about), as I was trying to fix it my sisters BF came in and said ahh thats the best thing about macs, they never brake, tbh he knows sh*te about pc's or macs and this level of childish 'apple cant do wrong' motive really drives me futher away from Apple. The fan bois make me sick, you slate an apple advert on youtube and there friggin there telling everyone how they invented the wheel.

Windows may have the same problem, but ive never seen any yet.
Im sure youll all slate me but Windows 7 is by far the best OS ive ever used, I havent had half the problems I used to have on vista.

To sum it up:
Mac OS is a fabolous OS, very fast, extremely easy to navigate, but its not practical for me using solidworks, VB.net and catia.
Win 7 has exceeded my expectations thats all I say about it :).

Yes, the apple fan-boys reckon they have, as I said, the latest, greatest technology, when you make a gaming PC for the same price but somewhat 2x, 3x better than the same priced Mac. Its just ridiculous what they tell you to pay for a computer.

I have question to the mac men. you are allowing to install windows os in your machine using boot camp, then why not allowing us to install mac in pc? In short is not it a double stand?

Arc, you should refer to Mac OS's EULA for that answer. Each company have their own policy, so you can't say because Microsoft sells Windows to anyone that has x86/x64 computers, then Apple must do the same.

I vote for Windows 7.
Yeah, Leopard may be more stable and friendly, but I'll probably never buy a Mac for three reasons:
1) too much expensive
2) too old hardware
3) not so much expandible
Well, this is my own opinion.

Yes! Sad, but true. If they sold their os in market separately for any computer, sales maximization may lead to revenue maximization (lol).

Perhaps Mac is a hardware vendor and the os comes with the hardware eventually. Pretty, and so not for the common people like us.

I think we should make our own choice, live with it, and live and let live. You will not see me on a Mac forum selling Windows 7. I just want to compute in peace and be left alone with my my own kind....

Just a question re the Mac/Windows 7 debate: does the aesthetics actually matter. I mean, the Apple Macbook and the 27inch iMac look gorgeous. I am seeing a lot of rubbish on the Windows market, esp. with regards to laptops. For example, really nasty cheap keyboards (surely a decent keyboard is integral to a laptop); touch-pads etc.

Aesthetics does matter. I mean, look at some of the new laptops and note/netbooks that are coming out now. They look pretty damn god.

However, to my mind the ultimate driver is cost and competition. Apple has no competitors (you can only buy a Mac from Apple), so they are at liberty to set their own cost structures.

PC makers on the other hand have to survive in a much more diverse market. There is a vast selection available to the prospective PC buyer. Therefore, given that all other aspects (such as component costs) are equal, manufacturers must strive to reduce market cost if they wish to survive in what is after all an extremely competitive environment. That is a trade off that sometimes results in products that seem visually or functionally shoddy, as manufacturers strive to cut production costs and sales prices.

Thanks, and astute points
