Call of Duty 2 cd start-up Issue

I just bought Call of Duty 2 a few or so ago and wanted to install in on my desktop. I put in the first cd to install and the cd was running. But, the screen remains black. I run Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Is it possible to install and play CoD 2 on this version? I've heard it is possible, and if so, how do I solve this problem?

My CODUO wouldn't load from disk, I had to save all the files onto my HD and then load from there. It worked fine from that point on.

You can't install CoD2 by just putting the disk in your PC, you have to open the disk in Explorer and start the setup.exe

I thought I tried that. I can check again. The other thing it might be is I have to run setup as administrator. That's happened on some of the stuff I've tried to run and seems to work usually. I'll try your suggestions. As for the drivers, I think I have all the latest stuff and it shouldn't be affecting the installation. It hasn't happened on any of the other stuff I've installed. I'll get back to you after I've tried a couple of these suggestions.

Ok...I got it working. Apparently, it was only a compatibility issue.. What I did was right-click on setup.exe and go to properties. In properties I went to the compatibility tab and set it to Windows XP service pack 3. Then, I ran setup.exe and it went through with the installation. Thanks for all the tips.
