These are ranked in the order of importance, with 1 being the most important in my eyes.

5: More eye candy as long as it doesn't slow up the OS.

4: Better multi core support

3: Better graphics card acceleration for 3D gaming

2: Better HD space compression so aps take up less space on the Hard disk

1: First, you know how you can switch tabs in IE with the new taskbar? Whether, the creators or Microsoft does it, I want it to be able to do that with other browsers such as Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, and so forth

Well, there you go. You are welcome to stateyour opinions on some of the things I want or say what you do. BTW, I am installing Windows 7 Build 7068(well, actually downloading using BitTorrent) as I type this so maybe my prayers will be answered before RTM. Wish me luck!:)

But why can't we do it from the taskbar?

Because firefox is not designed for the new features of the Windows 7 Taskbar, like the Native Microsoft products are - yet !, will just take a little time for Mozilla's developers to catch up

1. Make the Taskbar more like the dock in OS X. Zooming in and out during mouseovers, as well as slightly reducing the size of the taskbar would be great.

2. Make the light blue bar on the left side of menus semi-transparent.

3. Make the log-on screen's background a dimmed version of the wallpaper of the highlighted user.

4. Make the right-click drop-down menus semi transparent.

firefox is a bit outdated now in terms of its speed. Unless they up the tempo its going to fade out now that chrome and safari are leading the pack in terms of speed. And with add ons nearly in the offering for chrome and IE8 speeding things up I think FF is at the bottom of the pile.. I was a firefox installer but have not had it on any of my builds since 5/6 months ago and I would never go back to it unless the sped things up a bit.

I don't buy this one bit. Firefox 3.1 is very very fast. So much stuff does not work in Chrome there is no way you can properly claim it puts Firefox at the bottom of the pile. And nothing made by Apple ever should be claimed as "good" or anything other than "worthless" and "a waste of time".

Yeah cause Deamon tools works under Windows 7.....

if you want to mount images try the (free) virtual clone drive from slysoft instead --> SlySoft Virtual CloneDrive

Yup, plus the suggestion shouldn't have ever been made as Windows 7 is SUPPOSED to do it on its own.

win 7 is supposed to mount images on its own? where has it said that? i want in on that

Ya, I agree that windows should natively support mounting images. I think it doesn't because MS knows what that's mostly used for.

W7 can? Let us know how then.

Also, FF is much faster than IE8 (it has NOT been sped up. Its slower if anything). Chrome is quick, but just lacks a little in my opinion. I have not used Safari on a PC, so I can not comment on that.

Yeah Firefox has fell behind a bit on speed. According to tests I ran on Build 7057 a week ago or so on peacekeeper (FutureMark's browser benchmark) the current fastest Browser is Safari 4, followed by Chromium (nightly build of chrome), then chrome, then opera 10.0 (alpha), minefield (nightly build of FF), firefox, opera 9.64 (current version), IE 8.

So Firefox is still faster than IE8, and the current version of Opera (albeit slower than the alpha version of Opera), but it was far slower than Chrome or Safari were. If I remember right Safarigot a 1150ish, Chrome 800-900, FF 500-600 and IE8 a 350 or so on the benchmark.

Disclaimer: The firefox installs I tested had no add-ons, so it may be slower than IE8 with several add-ons, but was faster with no add-ons.

The bashing of Safari simply because its an Apple product really should be beneath you; especially as MAC OSX is not bad, at all. Regardless of personal opinions about apple it's the fastest browser at the moment, period.

I don't know of anything that doesn't work in Chrome (unless you're counting lack of add-on support) and Chrome is quite likely the most secure browser out there (ie. It's the only browser with no exploits found during the recent Pwn2Own).

Actually, Linux is the fastest I believe. Though OSX comes next mainly because of its kernal style.

Chrome is only secure now because not as many hackers have had time with it, and a lot less people use it than IE.

As for speed, I don't test, and my ISP and rig are fast enough that I would not notice the difference. I like FF, so I will stick with it.
