Windows 7 SP1 leak tomorrow!

.......I am not a fan of leaked software since you don't know what might be travelling with it waiting to land on your computer and relax and more than likely mess up you PC. I would rather wait just to be on the safe side
:D Another dude who's got zero idea on the reputation of zukona. Obviously a late-comer. Ha,ha.. :D
Alright, so this zukona has a good reputation from past experience. I accept that. But it still doesn't change my natural inclination to be skeptical and make me think that there is a first time for everything.

And with respect to any code, spyware, malware or other...just because it may have never wreaked havoc with anybody...doesn't necessarily mean that it's simply not there. I mean, people get paranoid about the WAT that Microsoft puts there...but might be willing to run a leaked build of something else....it just makes me wonder.

It's just something that some of us aren't willing to do. I'll just wait for those willing to do it to share their experiences about what has changed, what works well and what doesn't.

Hi all

I think Zukona etc. provided a valuable service during the pre RTM builds that I'm sure were downloaded by many many people without any problems whatsover.

However I have a slightly different take on this now.

1) If you are using a RELEASED purchased (or legally licensed such as Technet etc) version of W7 then you have to be careful "sourcing" upgrades from non official sources. -- When the product was PRE release the use of the "wild" was perhaps the only way for "normal" people to get hold of various builds - and the product wasn't in retail. Now it's in retail the legal implications are a bit different.

2) If you are using W7 in a Production or Real work environment then upgrading from "un-official sources" most definitely isn't a good idea.

3) If your W7 installation isn't broken why fix it -- just wait for the official SP1 - it won't be long in appearing in any case.

Cheers
jimbo

Service packs are just a group of updates and patches that have been released since the the original launch, so if you already get updates the service pack won't be necessary.

Most times they also include piracy foiler's, so if your system isn't lagit the service pack will reset any fraud to your MS build.

also theme patches get reset. so none of your custom themes will work.. then you have to wait for someone to come out with a rew theme patcher.

So unless your installing the service pack on a fresh install of windows then I wouldn't install it.

Ok, please step aside, then watch and learn..:D
This interests me. I've always stepped aside.

Could you please tell me, teach me, in which way you have learned something about Windows 7 that I have not learned? Do you know more than me because you've downloaded the leaks? Can you do more with Windows?

I've never installed or downloaded any version of Windows or any update of it that don't come directly from Microsoft, as an official install CD/DVD or direct download from official Microsoft website. I welcome beta's and RC's but only when they are officially released versions.

My computers have always worked OK, different Windows versions have always done what I've expected them to do, so I really do not understand what is it that I have supposedly lost? And what is it that I'm suppose to learn?

Maybe I'm missing the point but the only reason I can find to this leak hype is the classical 'I have the biggest!' competition.

Hey Kari.

Essentially the reason everyone likes having leaked versions is because its the latest and 'supposably' greatest. In some cases its true. I learned a lot from the leaked builds of Windows 7 honestly, I feel that my knowledge of things would be much different if I never went with those leaked builds. While we all have our own method of learning, my is trial and error. ;)

Honestly I think the thrill is in having something that not everybody has yet. I don't think that people often learn tons of new stuff with these releases...but rather they simply spend more time using their computer and thus gain experience simply based on time.

I'm not a leak user either and don't feel that I have negatively suffered from not having experience using the software.

This conversation is getting pointless. There are two kind of man here, one likes leaked staffs and one not. No need to argue about it. This thread is about a leak, so if you don't like it simply don't read/watch/download it. If you like it, do it on your own risk.
Let me tell you an example:
I don't like the Opera browser and I will never use it i think, BUT If there is a thread in a forum, where people speak about how good is the new Opera 10.50, I won't post there comments that I hate it, because it is useless. Who likes it, will use it.

If you are afraid of leaked software, It is OK. Using theese staffs is not safe, It's true.
If you want to protect the begginners who don't know what the usage of a leaked software means, it is OK.
Any other thing is OFFTOPIC.
