I have recently purchased at New Computer running W7 Home Premium. So As most people do I am transferring all my files from my XP home Edition SP2 System over a simple home network.

When I tried to move something more that's more than 1 gig over to the W7 machine.. the New system freezes up every time and then shows me the Blue Screen of Death and reboots itself. If I stay under that amount of data everything works fine.

Is this a common problem with Windows 7?? and is there a work around to this?

Looking for advice..

Thanks

Not a common problem. Are you using "homegroup"?

Ok so check this out guys. Now I know its not XP.. or the network, Because Just started tried to move large files from my shared folder ON the Windows 7 Brand NEW machine, just moving a file to a new folder from one space on the hard drive to a new space on the same hard drive..and BLAMMO!!! blue screen of death as soon as the data reaches about 700mb to 800mb of a 2 gig file.. I have been going NUTS researching this issue..I would be very impressed if someone had a solution to this.. I read somewhenr ethat my Bios may need flashing because it cant handle a 64 bit OS??? but don't know if I'm capable of doing this or if it will even help.. MAN I really want to use this new OS and machine but the fact I cant even copy large files scares me!!! I work with large files all day long..and am writing large data to the drive as well..so this issue need to be fixable!

Still waiting for a solution any ideas now that you all know the problem happens within the machine itself?

Thanks in advance..

Ok can you check your event logs for system/application errors? I'm still leaning towards a driver issue but there could be a couple other things we need to check.
