today i had a new phoneline installed, as i've been having major broadband problems on my old line since before xmas, and my old isp wouldn't do anything about it.

i now have a new isp and my download speed has gone up 500% and upload 800%. (yes they were really awful before!)

Today i went to pick an order from a vendor, only to notice that from 5 items I'd ordered only one was right.

Long story short: I buy all small electronics and components from a one-man-shop because his extremely low prices. He has no warehouse, everything has to be ordered and paid in advance, delivery can take up to two weeks, but in return you get prices you could only dream about when buying from big vendors. Everything is legal, products fully covered with warranty.

I had ordered a cheap Nokia phone (price example: in shops here €199, his price €129), two Nokia bluetooth hands-free devices for car and two iPhones. Only the first item to me, rest to people near me. We opened the package together, to find the Nokia phone I'd ordered, plus 2 * Nokia Bluetooth headset and 2 * iPod Touch.

Close but not what I'd ordered. The vendor showed straight away why I and many others always come back to him: He gave two options, money back with interest on the spot, or €100 discount, cash back on the spot and wait one more week to get the correct items.

So i got hundred euro cash back from my advance payment for already incredible inexpensive stuff, plus I will get the items I was waiting.

What makes this so remarkable is that both I and he know this mistake was not his fault. Fault lies on wholesaler, who got the right order (I saw it) but sent wrong items, for whatever reason. He's probably paying my extra discount from his own pocket, only to keep an old customer satisfied.

I like that kind of customer satisfaction policy!
