First of all, sorry if i'm creating the same theme, because i haven't spend too much time to search for my problems solve here, but still:
recently i'm having strange problem with uTorrent. While i'm trying to create torrent and choose my D partition, my utorrent stops working and automatically shuts down. Also, then i choose one or another folder to save my file like D:\Movies\Anime\FMA something like that, it also crashes. Maybe some advices how to fix it?
By the way, i'm using the latest stable version of uTorrent.

Have you tried running utorrent as an admin? (right-click the shortcut)

This would remove an account permissions issue as the problem.

And there are about 120gb free space

Exception C0000005 usually indicates an attempt to write to a protected system resource, such as memory outside the program's run-space or a non-existent device or port. It's piss poor error trapping to let the system toss an exception but that's what it's doing.

When you are entering folder names for uTorrent are you typing them in manually or using the browse buttons and dialogs to find them? Thing is, the folder you select has to already exist on your system... uTorrent won't create them.

I don't know... to be honest it's never done that to me. But I'm also not hosting any torrents... so I may simply have not come across it.

Have you tried going back to an older version and seeing if the problem is there too?

Any time... lets hope it doesn't act up again.

One thing I did learn about uTorrent is not to run it simply on defaults. I go through every panel in the setup and check every setting... (crossing fingers)... and it's been pretty much OK for me.

Sorry for the double post, but i need attention. I found the problem: i was caused by haali splitter. When i opened that folder, haali splitter automatically opens too, so it makes crash my utorrent.
But now another problem, i need haali splitter for *.mkv files, but firstly i will check settings

Yay, fixed :).

Are you encoding MKVs? I'm impressed.

But I don't get why that would open with a folder... it should open with your encoding software and close when it does.

Oh wait... do you have that folder set to show "thumbnails"? Try switching it to Icon or Detail view... It may be opening the decoder to show you the thumbnails.

Also if you aren't encoding, just watching... you could try Media Player Classic which has all the decoders built in. I find it's far more stable and not at all system invasive. That would let you delete the external codec.

I just done a little bit simpler move. I just installed Vista type codecs with vista compatibility + installed x64bit pack. And it fixed my problems, but yes, maybe your way is good too :)

Tell you what... I'm all for anything that fixes a problem. If your solution works, then you should be happy. If you need to try my way... well, at least the suggestion is on the table.

Glad you got it working.
