Changing default location for music, pictures etc

i've just had to reinstall windows again (not sure what happened, dam holidays!!) so i've just partitioned my C drive into to 2 partitions, C & D.

what i'd like to do is whan i click on the start menu, then music tab/button, it'll go to my D drive where i'll store my music etc

this should save me having to back them up/transfer over to another HDD

Just a word of warning: Make sure you move it to a folder on D - not to the D partition (that will get you into a mess). I ususally define Music, Documents, Pictures folders, etc. on D (or whatever partition I use) before I start. After you moved as per the instructions that Jonathan linked, the folders will be renamed to My Music, My document, etc.
And remember, you can only move folders that have a Location tab in Properties. And you cannot move libraries.

next wee question, where can i get the default folder icons, as i've messed up the my music one

ok, what i did first was, right clicked all the folders in users (name), copied and pasted in my D drive (no files have been put in these folders, only the standard samples)

then used the way JK's link said to link them over

i did copy & paste them (really just did that to make the folders), but then i used the move location method from JK's post, to the location on my D drive

OK, understand. A little unusual way to define folders, but any method that works is good.
