Hello,

I am using a new Lenovo y550P laptop and having problems with the external monitor. When I plug my external PIXO LCD monitor via the vga port, I get a constant flickering. I have tried installing and reinstalling all the graphics drivers for video card (geforce gt 240m), adjusting the refresh rates, tried 3 different vga cords, 2 seperate LCD monitors, and using different power surges with and without the laptop adapter, all to no avail. Please help!

@ iggy:

Yes I have. I've tried the 4 refresh options it gave me. The lowest settings (60 hz) causes the monitor to flash extremely fast while the highest setting (75 hz) reduces the flickering to about once every 2 seconds.

I guess I have no futher suggestions other than to uninstall the drivers for the graphics and see if Win7 picks a better one or try a basic VGA and work back up to the latest. Sorry.
Hopefully someone else may have a solution cause I'm stumped.
