I was referred to this section of the forum after troubleshooting a few early installation problems (details here: http://www.sevenforums.com/installation-setup/76354-cant-get-installation-past-starting-windows.html).
My current issue: Windows 7 (32-bit) boots up and works perfectly until I add in my Hauppauge PVR-150 card into any of my 3 vacant PCI slots. As soon as that card is added, Windows 7 will freeze on the "starting windows" screen, immediately after the first orange/red pixel appears. If I attempt to boot into any kind of safe mode, the system hangs on CLASSPNP.sys. Even recovery mode ends up hanging at a black screen.
I've read that Windows 7 is supposed to support that card, so I'm having a hard time understanding why it won't work. As soon as the card is removed from the system, all issues disappear.
SPECS
Mobo: Asus A8R-MVP
RAM: 3gb DDR2
Video: nVidia GeForce GT220
Tuner: PVR150 (model 26xxx)
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
