Well, it looks as my slow computer is bloated with all kind of spyware/adware, just no end to them. Does anyone here knows a good free anti-spyware program to help me get rid of them once and for all?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Yes I know it's a Windows 7 forum, and I've already posted a thread about whether to upgrade at this point or not, and got a lot of replies. It's a sign that this is a serious forum with nice and helpful members, so I wanted your help about this problem as well.

Smugness ......

Sarcasm ......

Asking for antispyware does not mean antivirus

It took me all of 30 seconds above to answer the the gentlemans question , I really do not see why you need 10,000 questions to answer a simple question no matter what OS he has.
Just because he runs XP does not mean he cannot pickup some usefull information here and all he received was grief from most of the posts here .... most coming from senior members ..... I am embarrassed :o

I personally like the combination of Comodo and malware bits. YOu can find them both at download.com or cnet.com they are the same place. both great programs and both have very high customer ratings. the new comodo had a built in sandbox feature if your familar with sandboxie then you might get excited about that. they are both free, comodo also has a great firewall built in. I recamend you do the full install of comodo and let it do its magic.

well mbam was an excellent suggestion but questions help pinpoint issue...existing security set up...etc

If it's not too much hassle for you, I suggest re-installing Windows or reverting back to an earlier system image (doubt you have one so you should look into that for the future).

Run Hitman Pro then the other suggestions by thathagat.

Thank you all for your great help here. I knew I wasn't mistaken posting this thread here.

And to edee and stillfreefilms - I could care less about all those "senior" members with their thumb up their ***. Arrogant and sarcastic replies are ones which should be ignored and not be given even the slightest attention.

I actually don't see any arrogance or sarcastic replies in THEIR posts, but I do in one.

I just downloaded Comodo on Monday and did a right click on icon and enabled
SANDBOXIE and my computer shut down. Rebooted and everything is fine.
Is sandboxie set to run in Windows 7 HP 64 bit?
How do know(see) if it is running?
