Hello folks. I'm new here. Got to say you have a very nice forum here.

I have a rather simple question regarding Windows 7. Currently I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate but have an ability to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate. As I remember, from playing around at some store, I wasn't able to create toolbar of "My Computer". If you refer to a shot, you very might be able to understand what bar I mean. How do I create this bar in Windows 7??

Here is a shot of what I have now in Windows Vista

Welcome aboard.

Windows 7 doesn't have the ability of making a toolbar (like you have there in your screenshot) out of a folder, with dragging and dropping it to the side of the screen like XP and Vista do. They took it out. Have a look thru the tutorial section, you might find different options that will work out for you.

you might be able to make a custom "My Computer" bar with Rainmeter just manually importing the folders you want to show and extend your taskbar out, and then just stick your "always on top" rainmeter bar all the way to the left.

Let me know if you need more help!
Thanks,
Kukag

Hello Ilyabyk, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Sorry, but the Desktop Toolbar feature from Vista has been removed in Windows 7.

You could use the Fences, Nexus,RocketDock, or 7stacks free programs instead though for this.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

It is not even close to a bar I have in my Vista. Any other thoughts on this??
My toolbar has simple shortcuts to all of drives connected to my PC. PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT THE SHOT PRIOR TO SUGGESTING SOMETHING TO ME. The bar is very simple and much simplier to any bars offered above.
THANK YOU

Did you bother to try any of the other programs? Fences would probably be about as close as you are going to get to this once you create and add your drive shortcuts, and resize it.

How do I create this bar in Windows 7??
As I see in your screenshot you use this toolbar only for drives. So: If you only want to show a drive list use HDD Monitor Gadget. This desktop gadget shows you a list of all drives, used and free disk space and you have direct access to the drives.
