office 2007pro reconfigures daily...why?

I had the same problem.

I moved and renamed the Start Menu links. I put them back. Issue resolved.

no, not at all. I never use choices from the start menu. I just click the file. If I leave the laptop on no prob. when I do my cleaning ( ccleaner,clean after me, temp cleaners, etc) and shut down, when I boot up and choose a office file the prob happens.

Are you using the registry cleaning portion of any of your cleaners? If so, that could be the source of your problem.

You may need to uninstall Office, 'clean up' the mess, and re-install Office.

And, not to create an argument -

The benefits of using registry maintenance tools are extremely limited. They should be used surgically, if at all.

I tend to use them to sweep the floor after a manual haircut. I hope that analogy helps prevent any fires.

This is most likely what's causing it. I had the same issue with Office 2007, and it turned out to be CCcleaner.

Yes, but CCleaner has removed something ref'd in the registry. Same effect.

ps. today, I opened excel to update my timeclock and it just popped up:huh:

Uncheck Office 2007 and I would uncheck Regedit. Under System, uncheck everything from Memory Dumps on down. You need some of this stuff to diagnose problems. I recommend unchecking everything under Advanced unless you are sure you understand what each of those are and what they do.

You are very welcome. Look at the way I have mine setup; it is a conservative setup. Yours was set up very aggressive.
