I supposed I should have worded it, whatever it happens to be set at. Meaning you wouldn't bother to change it if you sat down to a public machine etc..

Oh, now I see what you mean. Thanks. I was trying to do that myself but I guess the board software doesn't allow it.

edit: btw this makes me think of those "world is divided" sayings. Like, "the world is divided into 2 kinds of Windows users. Those who double-click to launch, and those who don't." Or something like that.

(When I mentioned the bias I meant the topic title "single click freaks" as that would tend to attract single clickers. I've joined the ranks of the one click ponies so I might as well promote it. )

edit2: the negative side-effect, as some double-clickers mentioned, is sometimes you inadvertently launch something. But I've noticed a positive side-effect. Sometimes double clicks weren't being picked up as they should. But with the hot tracking, it's very seldom that a single click to launch is dropped. It seems less error prone once you adjust to it.

I've always double-click to run something and one click to select.

Double clicking is too tiring. Checkboxes though are the most retarded thing to use with a mouse.

For me it's single click no check box. To select I just hover over or drag select.

I used checkboxes because I knew if I did hover, there'd be no way to get the thing to select on a consistent basis. I hovered over a bunch of icons like as long as 8 or 10 seconds. I think it selected 2 out of about a dozen attempts. At least with the checkbox I can predict it. (Whatever you do to get it to work on your machine won't work on mine so please don't lecture me.)



Plus it's annoying when the shell drops a double click and you have to double click yet again. At least with single you don't have to click your, er, finger, off.
