The native resolution of 1680x1050 will not show up in my display settings.

Its an older ECS 741GX-M motherboard with a SIS IGP.

I have the latest driver from Microsoft's catalog for the IGP. I have editied the EDID using Phonix EDID Designer and used Moninfo to create the .inf as described elsewhere on these forums.

Moninfo now says the desired 1680x1050 is there, but it doesn't show up on Display settings available screen resolutions.

The hardware can display 1680x1050 in Windows XP, so I'm sure its a software problem.

Thank you.

Probably not enough shared memory allocated to the IGP in BIOS. Increase and recheck.

Try using PowerStrip? You can manually select a desired resolution with that tool.

Thanks, but I've tried powerstrip and 'advanced timing options' is greyed out in 'configure diplay profiles'.

How can I use powerstrip to make 1680x1050 show up in the change resolution dialog of Windows 7?

Have you installed the drivers for your graphics chip?
