What is the best setup for running dual monitors with dual video cards?

Plug one monitor into one card and the other into the second card with Crossfire off, or turn on Crossfire and plug both monitors into the same video card?

Both monitors are the same.

there is a 80mm(8cm) intake fan on the side of the case and a 120mm(12cm) fan as exaust
I just switched both monitors to one card and enabled Crossfire. Everything seems to run the same as it did before.

im assuming gaming, but you would get about the same result, but the games would make use of both cards instead of just one card at a time.

you cant run a game on both monitors as far as a i am aware though.

Correct. Your original response is the best way to have a dual monitor + crossfire enabled.

And yep, the 48xx series do not allow dual/multi monitor gaming.

Actually, I don't play games. No time. I do a bit of photo editing and lots of accounting. Just wanted to have everything running at the optimum performance with the hardware I have.

Oohhh, connect to any available port then, and disable CrossFire since you don't need it... Any port will do for your apps.
