hi all!

i tried to set up a network via a wlan router between my windows7 64bit pc and an imac. everything works fine - only the pc is not visible in the network. i can access the imac from the pc but not vice versa (pc = not visible). data transfer from pc to imac is ok. from my smartphone i can see all the network devices at my place - again, the pc is not there. any clues?
regards,
markus

Are you using "homegroup" for networking??? On mixed networks you should be using "workgroup" as it is much more stable and uses IPv4 instead of the IPv6 that homegroup uses.

To test that simply create a new network connection using workgroup. If it works You can disable IPv6 and kill network

Let us know if you need help

Most likely which ever A/V software you have installed is blocking the Win 7 machine from being seen. You can either attempt to configure your A/V software so the Win 7 machine can be accessed or you can uninstall your A/V software completely.

i use "panda cloud" no settings change possible there. could the native windows7 firewall also be the troublemaker?

It could be the permissions settings on the Windows 7 machine. You sometimes need to add "Everyone" to permissions in order for everyone to see you. You may need to repeat this procedure for which ever folders or files you intend to share.

I'm not familior with panda cloud but that could also cause this problem to occur in which case uninstalling it might help.
