solved... I took the hard drive and mounted it in a dock in a different system. Using EASY BCD and copying a random BCD file I had it reinstall the BCD, recreate the entries, which did not work, however having easybcd run diagnostics and recover and fix the MBR a few times along with rewriting each entry and crossing my fingers when I installed it back in my main system it booted fine.
I was using easybcd to alter the bcd of another computer, long story short I think I told it to uninstall the vista bootloader before loading the bcd of the other drive I was working on.
the first installed software is Vista home premium, which I'm dual booting with win7 x64. When I try to boot I get the "NTDLR is missing" message.
Is the one of the situations where I would use diskpart while at command prompt to do something?
I cant get repair to work.
