Hi

I upgraded my Asus F5N laptop from Vista 32 bit to Win7 64 bit and I can't seem to find drivers that will work for the webcam (STK-1135) and whatever the "coprocessor" is. The mic recording level is also too low.

I have noticed these are common issues. Since this laptop had Vista 32 bit oem, would I have better luck trying win7 32 bit.

Any help with getting the 64 bit drivers would be great too. Thanks

32 bit is always going to be somewhat easier to get drivers for especially with older hardware.

If there are 64 bit vista drivers for your hardware they will probably also work if you install them in compatibility mode.

If you dont need 64 bit for extreme work 32 bit will have a smaller footprint, use less memory, etc

Hi and thanks for the replys they were helpful. I have managed to get all the driver problems solved. My laptop has successfully been upgraded to 7 64bit from Vista 32bit.

It took me a while to figure it out. Win7 got it 99% right out of the box but it loaded up the wrong chipset drivers. After I found out what chipset I actually had (nForce 560) I loaded their Vista 64bit drivers and that solved the "coprocessor" fault. After that the webcam drivers would install but I needed to install it through the device manager. It would not install manually running the setup application.
