Does this mean the drive is dead??

This drive was originally part of a RAID in my Dell 730X.

I have not been using the drive. I wanted to reformat it so I could use it as an extra drive. I plugged it into my Thermaltake Blacx USB adpater.

When Windows sees the drive it shows up under my Computer, but is not accessible. Under Disk Management it shows the drive and shows it as RAW Health (Primary Partition).

I have tried deleting the Volume, Formating the Disk, and running the Error Checking. NONE worked.

I tried running diskpart to delete the partition and this is the error I get.

diskpart has encountered an error: the drive cannot find the sector requested

I also tried connecting it to internal SATA ports. When I connect it one port, it shows up as a non member disk when I go into the array config, before WIN loads. No options to do anything with that disk, only choices are to revert all drives back to Non Array, (can't break array since it has all my info on it), other option would be to create an array(can't do that either, since there are no other free ports to add another drive for an array).

When I enter Windows, drive is not visible in Disk Management or through diskpart.

Also tried the other SATA connector on the other side of the board (I have been using it for a storage drive) and same result. Windows & Diskpart don't see the drive.

Now what can I try, or is the disk dead?

I had tried the Disk Check and it would NOT run.

Will Try Seagate SeaTools now and see if that works.

Drive takes a long time, after being plugged in, to show up in Disk Management.
When it finally does it shows it as bein in RAW format and will not let me do anything there either.

You might need to plug it back into your Dell and then disassociate it from the RAID array from there.

Tried that, but it wants me to turn all the drives back into individual drives and break the array. I didn't want to do that, since then I would have to reload everything (OS, Programs, & Data) :(
