Blue Screen of Deaths when playing

Hello all,

I have posted a thread a couple of months ago, about the same problem.
Now I have attached 4 cases of BSOD.

*Those BSOD happens usually when I play a game.

I went to the computer laboratory for like 7 times, and they even changed some physical parts, but as you can understand with no success. (In the other 6 times, they said that they did not find anything wrong with my computer).

Usual causes: Kernel mode driver, System Service, BIOS, Windows, Virus scanner, Backup tool, compatibility

STOP 0x0000007F: UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP same meaning, parameter as 100000007F

Usual causes: Memory corruption, Hardware (memory in particular), Installing a faulty or mismatched hardware (especially memory) or a failure after installing it, 3rd party firewall, Device drivers, SCSI/network/BIOS updates needed, Improperly seated cards, Incompatible storage devices, Overclocking, Virus scanner, Backup tool, Bad motherboard, Missing Service Pack
STOP 0x0000008E: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED same meaning, parameter as 10000008E

Usual causes: Insufficient disk space, Device driver, Video card, BIOS, Breakpoint in startup without having a debugger attached, Hardware incompatibility, Faulty system service, 3rd party remote control, Memory

In looking through your drivers, I see that you have AVG anti virus installed. AVG is known to cause BSOD, on some systems. I suggest that you uninstall it while trouble shooting using the uninstall tool > Info > Tool (32bit) - Tool (64 bit). If you have AVG Identity Protection installed, uninstall it also >Info > Tool[FONT=&quot]. I recommend that you install MSE and make sure Windows Firewall is turned on.

Also, Virtual CD program such as Deamon tool or Alcohol 120% are known for causing BSOD, please remove them completely, then use this tool to remove sptd.sys: DuplexSecure - Downloads

Please run system files check and check disk: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html and http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html

Also, memory corruption can be potential cause, please download third party called memtestx86, burn it to CD using ISO Recorder v3 and let it run for at least 6,7 passes

I have finished running the memtest. Here are the results:

As you can see, fortunately or unfortunately the test did not find anything wrong with my RAM.


Anyway, I have uninstalled "AVG anti virus" and installed [FONT=&quot]MSE [/FONT]instead.
Moreover, I have removed "Daemon Tools" as requested.
I have run this check: [FONT=&quot][URL="http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html"]SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker[/FONT][/URL][FONT=&quot] and the result is: "Windows Resource Protection did not find ant integrity violations"[/FONT].

Therefore, I did everything you requested except from the [FONT=&quot]Disk Check which I will do soon.[/FONT]

***I still have some questions though:

1. I use Daemon Tools very often, what should I do with the ISOs after uninstalling Daemon Tools? (I already uninstalled it) (I do not want to burn every ISO file I work on)

2. In the program I downloaded from: "SPTD uninstaller: DuplexSecure - Downloads", They wrote this scary message, when I wanted to uninstall as you requested: "This program will remove SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD) layer from your computer. WARNING - uninstallation of SPTD will cause malfunction of any application that depends on it! Are you sure you want to remove SPTD from this machine?"

So, should I be worry about uninstalling it?
On the other hand, there is an Update option in the same program from link you gave me, should I pick the update option instead of the uninstalling one?

No worry, get rid of that sptd.sys, you don't need it. Don't choose the update option, choose the remove (uninstall) option
The reason I wanted you to remove sptd.sys is because they are well known for causing BSOD. Unfortunately, Deamon tool and Alcohol 120% use it.
If you need alternative program, I will 100% sure you can use MagicDisc, It doesn't have sptd.sys, -->no BSODs, I gurantee, and it's free too :devil2:

Again, You choose remove option, :devil:not update or install the sptd.sys OK

You ram is ok, be sure that you did use the tool to remove AVG as well. They would not be removed completely if you use the add/remove feature of window

c) If the temperatures are a higher than supposed, how can I fix (lower the temp) of my ATI card?

a) gpu-z a free application monitors and keeps track of your GFX temps
b-check your temp range on the ati site
c-lower temps by cleaning out the computer adding fans, etc

Uninstalling STPD will disable anything but Daemon Tools - which you have already uninstalled. It is safe to uninstall - and can easily be re-installed at a later date.

I do not know of a similar program that does not use SPTD sorry. What you can do is just temporarily remove it and if the BSODs continue then it is obviously not the cause and is safe to re-install.

Now, onto the questions in your next post:

a) Use Speedfan or similar - and to measure it while you are in game just use the graphing option under the Charts Tab. Make sure you select which temperature you want to graph (in this case GPU)

b) I do not have any experience with ATI cards - but the right temp for a similar performing NVidia card is around 70°C or less

c) First just see if it is getting too hot - then we will look at possible cooling options.

Basically, sptd.sys belongs to Virtual Cd program such as Deamon tool or Alcohol 120%. If we see sptd.sys exist, we know you have Deamon tool or Alcohol 120%. Remove the Deamon tool doesn't mean that you get rid of sptd.sys. To remove sptd.sys completely out of your system, you need to use the tool that we provide

Thank you everybody for helping me out!

I think that we are making a progress here!!!

I have used the GPU-Z program in order to check my GPU temperatures while playing,
and so my computer had another BSOD . This is the reason why I am attaching another Minidump (BSOD) again.

However, the big deal is that now I am uploading the GPU-Z Sensor Log document. (it's in the the Winrar archive)
The log file was started before I started to play, AND stopped with the BSOD which mentioned ^above^.
Therefore, we can all see very clearly the the GPU Temperature [°C] column is getting higher as I continue to play: from about 60°C to 80°C!!!


I think that we found the BSODs trigger!


In case this really is the trigger, what do I need to do in order to fix this problem?
