I am having trouble copying large amounts of data, and was wondering if there were certain ways to speed up the process. Patch a few .dll's? Use a program?

Thanks in Advance. =)

Any feedback welcome, i'm curious as i might have to swap files soon, the native windows 7 gave & give me satisfaction enough but this one looks attractive, + x64 support. Thanks

I'm just curious.....What do you consider a large amount of data?

I recently copied over 60 gig's of data from one HD to another, using XCOPY with the /s option. I just let it run while I watched TV. No biggie!

At the moment I am trying to copy a mere 2 gigabytes, but its on my flash drive so I'm having trouble with a few of the larger ones. It'll just get stuck and won't move past the file.

Does anyone else know alternative software for this, that other software - wow. I couldn't figure out how to choose where to output the data to. xD

i've never had much success with teracopy.

regularly i have to copy a folder containing 40,000 small files totalling about 1.5 gig.

teracopy was far slower than windows explorer in this scenario. your mileage may vary, it's worth a try.

the only thing i found that helped significantly was to pause my antivirus software during the transfer - but then i've got to remember to turn it back on when i'm finished....

So I ran into this issue earlier cause I was running out of space on my primary so I installed a secondary. But I had to move 799 GB of data to my secondary. I downloaded TeraCopy and it worked great. It just took around 2.5 hours. But it got the job done. Now I just need to buy another huge drive.
