It looks great buddy, you have skills. It's understandable what you say about detail at that size. It's a small canvas you have to work with. I like it.
I wouldn't mind having a crack at making one myself (obviously not to the calibur of the ones you guys making for us).

I guess PS offers the most of possibility of effects...
But you can create really good images with The Gimp
which is freeware...
I often use it too.
Some of us use "Corel" which is really cheaper than PS but i don't know well possibilities...

Hi Thorn ! The base is made by me, using Photoshop CS5 , the animation is done by noyb , that is also using Photoshop CS5 .
So if you use PS, that is enough (at least upto a certain extent). And about your idea to make it yourself , just carry on. If you need any type of technical support, we all are here to help you
