hello. hopefully posted in the correct forum. well i have a big pc with windows 7 and i also have a hp laptop with vista. i was wondering if it is possible to reload everything on to a 64gb ssd, because it is incredibly slow.
if it was the desktop i wouldn't need to ask but the l/t is maybe different. i have 3 discs came with the package, Operating system cd ; multiple user interface pack for use with windows xp professional sevice pack 2///. supplemental software, office 2007 trial dvd///. application and driver recovery dvd for windows xp. i was sure i had vista installed.

It depends. How familiar are you with taking Lappys apart and putting them back together again?

Everything in a laptop is tightly packed, I wouldn't go messing around in there if you don;t know what your doing. Unless you want a nice Laptop shaped brick of course.

well i built my own desktop, so i think i'll be okay with the fitments. just curios about mobo software / drivers etcetra. does it work on the same priciple as a desktop. motherboard; cpu; hdd (sata3); dvd player; memory etcetra, load in windows (xp or vista i have both ) then load in mobo drivers tecetra, and if i'm not mistaken vista will find any necessary /required drivers, correct?

Yes Drivers work on the same principle. You will need to get your Drivers straight from HP for the most part though, as OEM's tend to use their own version of "standard" drivers.
