windows 7 wont start after installing some apps

this has happened twice now i downlaod some programmes then i close down the computer and when i turn it back on it gets stuck on the starting windows screen and i have to go back to the system repair point and install them again
i installed
windows live messenger
adobe flash player
launchy
itunes
bunch of firefox extensions

any known problems with these programmes

well the only thing that would stop it from loading would have to be loaded at startup so i assume that would eliminate firefox. I Don't recall any problems with live messenger or flash player (don't think it loads at startup) , I would suspect itunes possibly launcy(not familiar with that).

thank you i shall not download launchy as that is the only one that launches at start up:)

Itunes installs some services that are loaded at startup as well. Start with launchy and if that does not work try it without itunes.

Why not use msconfig, go to the startup tab and untick all the ones you listed in your first post and then tick one by one rebooting each time to see if you can work out the culprit.

My bad i just assumed thats how he would try to find the culprit, but i take it from your reply your assuming he is reinstalling and trying each app.
