2 Problems I have just noticed in my PC's performance

1st problem is that since I have clean installed 7 last week when ever I change the theme after playing a game the please wait screen appears and freezes for about a minute before changing and it never used to do this only thing that changed in my PC is the GPU from a ATi 5770 to a GTX260 not sure if this can cause this.

2nd Problem is that whenever I shut down the PC i get the waiting for applications to close before shutting down message appear even when nothing is running in the background and again my PC never done this before this week any help on these problems would be really appreciated. Also i have clean installed 7 twice now so I don’t think it can be the install of 7 on there now that is doing it.

And what's the chance that you don't have the latest driver for the graphics card?

Nvidia runs some background processes/services that (imho) are less than efficient.

You could temporarily quit all background nvidia processes (using taskmanager) as well as stop all nvidia services then try the theme change after playing a game.

Give it a try.
