Creating Guest Account With Limited Authorities

Hi all ,

I Will Create Password At My Windows Account But I Want To Create Guest Account With Limited Authorities , Limited Access To Partitions and Install Programs....

Is there any way to do this at Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit ?!

Thanks for your fast reply but i already activated it but i wand to make it limited , doesn't control at the Windows the same way the admin account do , and if i also want to prevent the guest account from access specific partitions ... can i do it even with another software ??!!

I think you can do what you want using Parental Controls on the Guest Account, the one thing you have to do is ensure at least one Administrator Account is password protected and then you can follow this:

4. Under Additional controls, select the provider for the controls you want to add in the Select a provider box. If there is no Select a provider box, you still need to install the additional controls.
5. Click the user account that you want to add the additional controls to.
6. If a setup screen appears for the additional controls, follow the instructions on the screen.
   If no setup screen appears, check with the manufacturer of the controls for information about setting them up.

   • If you've installed additional controls that don't appear in Parental Controls, check with the manufacturer.

what is it's limitations exactly ?? i want to prevent installing programs and prevent this account from accessing some partitions etc...

I just tried to access the admin account (Bare Foot Kid) from the Guest account and got a UAC and that's with UAC at default.

I can't answer that as I did the other in a VM and it only has one partition, and I can't shut-down the main machine right now; maybe someone else will confirm it for you.

in fact the whole guide of which this is part 20 is a useful read for anyone wishing to go beyond the basics with network and security in windows.

have a read if you can as permissions can bring complete control to the shared or networked computer

Yes, and what is the issue? Guest is a limited user...it has no access to the admin account or admin functions.

Parental controls should allow you to block access to other drives/partitions if I'm not mistaken.

Edit - then add and type the name of your user and OK the entry - the name will be checked and when found allow you to add permissions
