    RES Stuck at 1024x768

So my native RES is 1680x1050 and has been working fine for about 2 months, until yesterday when i turned my computer on, the screen turned off saying "no signal". turning the screen off an on fixed this but my RES was stuck at 1024x768 with no way to change it up.

Ive tried getting the latest drivers, as well as several older versions, ive even completely reinstalled windows 7.

The only time when it correctly detects my screen and lets me use native RES is when i got to hardware, right click on display adaptors and click un-instal on my graphics, and with no drivers everything works fine...except i can run any games or anything like that.

Been playing round with some different drivers, and the last one i tryed alowed a much wider range of Resilutions including 1600x1200 which looks a bit warped and stretched but is better then nothing for now.

Here is a picture of the Settings it allowed:

    And failing a custom Resolution:

What driver are you using to get those resolutions?

What graphics card do you have, and are you using the DVI or VGA interface? Check the pins on the plugs of the cable to make sure that none are accidentally bent - if they are, try to straighten them out with needle-nosed pliers. Failing that, replace the cable.

XFX 9600GT using DVI, all the pins appear fine in the cable, might see if i can find another cable or screen to test with though.

Good idea. Even if the pins on the connectors look OK, we cannot preclude any damage to the wires in the cable itself. If you have access to another computer, preferably one running Vista or XP, then try connecting the monitor to that. If the monitor then works correctly, then that would eliminate the monitor and cable from the equation. It could be a bug in W7 or in the graphics driver (don't forget that both are currently Beta).

It would appear that others also have problems with this resolution. Have a look at the following threads to see if anything there might help you.
