Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, 64-bit

The rule of thumb is that if your laptop hardware supports 64 bit, to go ahead and use 64 bit, particularly if you have more than 4 GB of RAM.

Most laptops made in the last 3 or 4 years will support 64-bit.

I think your laptop is about 8 or 9 years old and may have a T2400 Intel processor.

Intel says that processor has a 32-bit instruction set. If so, I don't think you are going to have any luck with 64-bit Windows.

If you've got some other processor, identify it.
