BSOD Installation Error 0x0000007B Dual Boot System
I do not know if this is the correct forum to ask this question but im currently trying to jury rig a dual boot system of windows 7 and windows XP from a Win 7 / Vista dual boot system. I have been unable to hinder the OS executable compatibility error for installing older operating systems over "current" operating systems so any in windows route i take to install win XP on a separate hard drive is stopped.
After several attempts of what i mentioned in paragraph one i tried the basic bios load from CD. The end result was a 0x0000007B BSOD. I consulted the fountain of all knowledge formerly known as Google and discovered what a 0x0000007B could possibly mean and i used the drive fitness test provided by my hard drive manufacturer and windows chkdsk and the drive checked out fine. My next step was modifying BIOS setting that dealt with the sata configuration. I changed from raid (which was pointless to be on anyway since i do not have a raid array) to ACHI even IDE although im not sure what the IDE configuration for SATA really meant but i did it anyways. Each time i got the BSOD error at the exact spot...
I just don’t know what to do to fix my problem and dual boot win XP alongside my win 7 boot.
Also important information to note, Vista installed perfectly on the drive i was trying to install XP on and the drive is in an Esata external enclosure
