I have never formatted an HD before, but now I need to.

MY laptop ATA HD (NTFS) has two partitions: One of 100 Mb, reserved for the system, the other C:> (230 Mb).

All I want is to format C:> so I can do a clean install using my original Win7 Home Premium (32 bits) CD.

Never did a format before without the help from a third party.
As I moved to a small town and don't know anyone who could help me, I will have to rely on the help from you people at the Seven Forums.

Need help to do this all by myself SOON, and don't want to disrupt the partition reserved for the system.

I appreciate any help that can make make me accomplish this task safely.

    Cheers,
    Flores

Simply format your C partition when you do the new install. It`s that simple.

       Information
We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD.

If you want to reinstall Win7 you should delete all partitions during install and create new ones as you wish. Otherwise if you leave it the 100mb System Reserved partition will be abandoned with the System files written to C.

    Hello Theog,

    No, I did not.
To be frank, nobody advised me to do so.
