Just moved in to University and tested the Internet connection here:

My university takes a sh*t on yours then roflcopter

What a crap upload speed.

My home connection had a better upload speed than that, "roflcopter".

Mine's only the Internet speed anyway, the LAN speed is 10Gbps.

Lot higher than I thought, although keep in mind speeds are throttled down over time. I did a test from the local (sfo.speakeasy.net) Speakeasy server and it was 6633/7000. Generally I don't go below 6Mbps/1Mbps. Anything over 5/1 is good for now. When real hi-def streaming comes along, perhaps 10-20 Mbps will be required.

Hi Tonza. That's a unique result you have. Typically download speeds are much higher than uploads, not the other way around.

I have a pretty good connection at work:
597535870.png

But my home connection sucks. I only get 800K down with 200K up! I'm very jealous of most of you. I live in a rural area where there aren't any alternatives. I pay thru the nose ($85/month) for a really crappy connection. Luckily, my employer reimburses me for that cost so I can work from home several days per week.

Hello RugbyHoe, welcome to Seven Forums!

Not bad for Denver.

Thanks Mr. Kid. Comcast used to be pretty pathetic here (lucky to hit 3 Mbps), but they've definitely improved over the past couple of years. Still wish the FiOS folks would make to my neck of the woods though - it would be nice to at least have another option...
