This is a new one for me, as well.

I checked my Network on my Win7 Desktop; it shows all the TVs under the title 'Media Devices.

Computers are listed under 'Computers.

Printer' and Scanner, have separate listing. But show the same printer under each heading.

I don't see an 'Other Devices' on mine. You could try clicking on it and see what options it gives, perhaps there's a remove or delete.

Not sure why Windows would double the listing for that particular TV. Then label it as other devices.

Well, that's certainly not going to work either. Too bad I don't have it happening here, that way I could troubleshoot the issue here.

This is one of the ways, I usually remove a device, see video. But we already know this doesn't work for other devices.

How To Delete A Printer or Other Hardware from Windows 7 (youtube.com)

You could try removing the TV itself from media devices, perhaps it will also remove the other device listing. Be sure to reboot afterwards.

Hopefully, another member with more experience in this area will see this thread and offer a fix.

Here try this temporary fix until another one can be found. Try turning off Network Discovery. Reboot and see if the TV also disappears from other devices.

Network Discovery - Turn On or Off in Windows 7 | Tutorials (sevenforums.com)

Could be something to do with the Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth connection, if your PC is equipped with Bluetooth. The other devices could be an unknown driver Windows doesn't recognize, so instead of giving it a label, it shows up as other devices.

Could also try going into the TV settings and temporarily disable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Or change the Wi-Fi password. This would block the TV from connecting to the router, removing it from the network.

Good thoughts,
but turning off Network Discovery, the network card goes blank , and cannot connect to external devices.
my pc doesn't equipped with Bluetooth.
Both tv's connected via Ethernet cable.

I need a device specific solution and I don't know if there is one...

OK, so no Wi-Fi, no Bluetooth connected device, just hard-wired Ethernet connected TVs.

Try removing all the other network connected devices leaving only the affected TV connected then reboot, see if the 'Other Devices' entry remains.

'Device specific solution'. Again, check in the TV menu/ settings for the possibility of something being turned on that could cause a second device to show up on the network.

You could try calling tech support for the TV, see if they have a solution.

Other than that, I'm out of ideas, like I said, this is something new I have not experienced before. But it is challenging.

TV menu/ settings are the same on both tv's

calling tech support i think will be pointless and they will not deal with such issue, though ill send them the subject link.

Try looking in Device Manager for Other Devices, see if it shows up in there.

In Device Manager right click on each TV entry and select uninstall.

Then disconnect the TV Ethernet cables from the modem. Reboot and check to see if the TV still appears in 'other devices'.

If it is gone, stop here and let me know.

If it's still there, go back to Device Manager and look for another entry that may be associated with the TV and uninstall it. Reboot and check 'other devices' again.

In Device Manager right click on each TV entry and select uninstall.
Then disconnect the TV Ethernet cables from the modem. Reboot and check to see if the TV still appears in 'other devices'- Well they reappear back after reboot .

- they are also shown in Device Manager under "digital media devices" - but again they reappear back after reboot .

I think you well proposed all places they can be found in my system...

So, the TVs reinstalled in Device Manager after trying to remove them.

You said, there are two separate entries for the TVs in Device Manager, one under 'System Devices' and one under Digital Media Devices.

When you tried to remove the TVs from Device Manager, did you remove both TVs from both entries, (System Devices) & (Digital Media Devices) then disconnected Ethernet to them and rebooted?

If so, this time disconnect both TVs from the Ethernet first. Go back into Device Manager and try right clicking on each TV entry and choose to disable. Reboot. Let me know what shows up again and where.

Does your Windows 7 PC have Wi-Fi capabilities? If so, what shows up under Wi-Fi devices in Device Manager?

How old are the Smart TVs, both have Wi-Fi? I have to ask.

You said, in Device Manager both TVs have the same driver version.

Do you have a Modem or a Modem/Router combination, or are the Modem and Router, two separate devices?

You said, right clicking on Other Devices has no sub menu under properties and no option to remove.

"I think you well proposed all places they can be found in my system". I think there may be more.

Do you have a newer Win10/11 computer or can borrow one?

-they shown as disabled status, both under Digital Media Devices and System Devices.

The reason I asked you to disable the TV drivers in Device Manager was to see if they would disable, you confirmed they did.

However, the TV drivers will not uninstall. Let's try two other methods. Once again, connect all Ethernet cables, enable all TV drivers in Device Manager, reboot, go back into D.M. and try to uninstall all TV drivers, reboot, check D.M. again. Did they uninstall this time?

If not, try uninstalling in Safe Mode. Let me know if you need assistance with this process.

The reason I asked about the Modem, and Wi-Fi was to see if it would be possible to connect one of the TVs to the computer by Wi-Fi, since they both have the same exact driver. Since they are both connected the same way, by Ethernet, this maybe causing one of the drivers to appear in 'other devices'. Although, at this point, I can't be sure because so far, we have not been able to uninstall the TV drivers to continue troubleshooting.

Finally, you confirmed you have a modem which does not have Wi-Fi capabilities because there is no Wi-Fi router. It's not a Modem/ Router combination, it's only a Modem. Therefore, even if you wanted to try to connect the newer Windows 10 PC and one of the TVs to Wi-Fi this would not be possible.

- i could uninstall them, and none is shown in network ->Other Devices, and not under device manager .

i did connect one of the TVs to the computer by Wi-Fi (usually don't use wi fi )- but results/drivers type are the same (my win 7 hasn't wifi card)

it is kind of Modem/ Router combination- i don't use wifi usaully, but use USB Ethernet Adapter for Mibox e.g.

I think its a windows bug "reading" LG tv

"I think it's a windows bug "reading" LG tv"

I'm sure if you checked the Windows 10 computer in safe mode with the same connections, the results would be the same.

Normally, the next step here would be a "Clean Boot" to determine what is interfering with the removal of the TV drivers in normal mode.

If it's a third-party driver you'd simply remove the software. If it's a Windows service, there may be a way to change the settings to allow the TV drivers to cooperate with Windows OS. At this point, I'm not sure whether it would or would not help. Or whether or not it would have any affect at removing the TV driver from appearing under 'other devices' in network.

So, I leave that decision up to you whether or not to continue troubleshooting from this point.

There is a chance a "Clean Boot" may find the culprit, then again it just may end up being an incompatibility issue with Windows and that model of LG TV. Especially, because the same problem exists on two different operating systems.

If the problem is with the TV then perhaps there's a firmware update for the TV to correct this, but I doubt it.

If it were only windows 7 being affected, I would say it could have been caused by a windows update. But, since the OS is no longer being supported by Microsoft, we can forget there ever being a possible fix.
