System Sweeper Error 0x8004cc01

Anyone know what this error code represents? I have run the program successfully on a Windows 7 32-bit, an XP/SP3 with no problems. Unfortunately on one computer it does not load and errors out. Any ideas?

Not A Versioning Problem

No, I downloaded the 32-bit version and it works on a 32-bit version of Windows 7 and a 32-bit version of XP/SP3, so versioning is not an issue. Thanks.

Don't forget that this tool is in Beta and is therefore still being worked on. It is to be expected that there might be bugs that need ironing out before the finished product is released. Microsoft does a good job of testing, but there is a limit to what it can do with the machines in their own labs. They are able to get the product/tool into a sufficiently stable enough state to release to the wider community across the world and, from the feedback they receive on bugs and other issues (including interface layout), they are able to incorporate fixes. Ultimately, the final release of the tool will be a collaboration between MS and the members of the worldwide computing community who have chosen to participate (and provide feedback) in the Beta testing phase.

While I appreciate the fact that it is in beta, it still would be nice to know what the error code means and if there is something I can do to remedy the error condition that is demonstrably on my one machine. I have tested it with two others (Windows 7/Professional 32-bit and Windows/XP-SP3) so I think from where the error occurs, it might be a WGA issue or some preliminary test.

What is the system you had the error? The error was said to be a definitions update issue.

Great: Now I can look at my Internet connectivity issues when using that system. It is possible that booting from a CD does not allow the use of a wireless Internet connection or possibly support the one I use. The duplicate system that worked also had a wireless connection and everything worked well. Now I have a point to begin my investigation so that I may provide a more informed reply to the beta team.

It may be booting from a CD doesn't load your NIC driver.
