Solved Getting UAC prompt when clicking Advanced system settings

I started to get an UAC prompt for systempropertiesadvanced.exe after clicking on Windows Advanced system settings. After allowing, it goes to the normal Advanced system settings menu, and everything seems to function normally.

Could it be a virus? No virus report using Avast.

Hello giovform, and welcome to Seven Forums.

It sounds like you may have your UAC settings set to "Always notify" (top level) instead of the default (second from top) level. Setting it back to default should stop it.

Hi, thank you. I checked and it is at the default level. UAC reports the publisher is unknown. Clicking to change the notification settings also promps UAC with an unknown publisher.

Since you are getting an "unknown publisher" message for a Windows system file (systempropertiesadvanced.exe), you might run a SFC /SCANNOW command to see if it can find and repair the file.

Could be. If you like, you could uninstall the KB3004394 update as a test to see if it stops afterwards.

Perfect. Until a new patched version is release, you might just hide the update for now to prevent it from being automatically installed.

Thanks so much your workaround, it fixed the issue.
uninstalled the KB3004394 auto restart and it takes a while to restart to desktop so just wait.
