0patch wants to keep Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 secure by developing and deploying micropatches after end of support in January 2020, I leave the link with the new.
This can help a lot those of us want continue using windows 7 after support.

Not familiar with that. Is that like a school grade A-B-C-D? What's wrong with the company, before I let them touch my computers?

Don't think there's anything wrong with the company or group, who ever they are, but I was suggesting that if they can't even use proper headers in their htaccess file on the website, then how would anyone trust them with Windows patches?

But again, they are using Blogspot and they may not have any control over the setting of the proper headers.

And yes, that is a school grade where A is best and F is worse.

Why would/should they not charge? They are providing a service. If you don't like it don't use it.

So, the answer appears to be that one must purchase one of the licenses. I didn't look to see what they cost but it might be worthwhile.

On the other hand, Microsoft did provide a patch for XP and Vista for the keyblue (probably not remembering the name correctly) problem. I'm sure someone will correct me.

There was 1 patch for XP. I ran XP safely for 4 years, on the web, after patches ended, just being super-careful. And backup images are insurance.

I believe I read MS will keep enterprise systems patched for $25 per year per device. So 0patch will have to do quite a bit better than that.

I for one am going to try it! I wanted to post here to get this back to the top considering were getting closer to the END! And it is a general 0Patch thread way in the back on page 6 with a good title.

I'll report back when I get things up and running.

One thing that is confusing to me is:

So what is the FREE Version good for then?

Okay, here they clarify it a little more.
What are PRO patches and how are they different from FREE patches?

I think I'll try the free version and see how that goes for a while.

I don't think the Free patches will be much use soon ...

Patches for end-of-life products (e.g., old Java runtime versions, Windows Server 2003, or Windows 7 after January 14, 2020) shall be PRO patches.

From your own link - the word free does not always mean what you think - It's often used to get people interested before the real cost is presented

That's great Roland, tell me how you got it to work. I signed up for the Free for now but don't mind paying for the Pro for a year!

I could not sign in to the Console! I went and looked at my Firewall but I don't know if that needs to be changed or not. I see Port 443 Disabled, which is the Port they say they need to use. But I also see the 0Patch listed in that Port. Makes not sense to me as I don't know anything about the windows 7 Firewall.

Well, I'm not sure just what happened. After downloading, installing, the free version, forgot whether I had to start it or it took off on its own. Later, I upgraded to the pro version. It embeds micro fixes on its own, no further input from user needed. Make sure: Services is correct, AV AM AS programs give it green lights. You will see on/off/on/off 0patch server connection, that is quite normal, leave it alone The notification of every action or of every success "got in my face", I set it to only "tell" me if something failed. No failure popup yet.

I contacted 0Patch so well see what they say. I guess I could try changing my password, as that is the only thing I can think of that may have gone wrong, but I Copy Pasted it twice so don't know how it would be wrong.
