0x0000007B After switching to AHCI

I recently put together a custom computer (first time building one)

I set it up in IDE mode, but now I'd like to switch it to AHCI because the SSD is running really slow. It boots up slow, windows takes quite a while to load up. I've got a Western Digital 1 TB in addition to my Mushkin Chronos 120 gb SSD, and I've tried unhoooking the HDD but it doesn't help. I also tried switching to AHCI by manually editing the registry, then restarting and switching it in the BIOS to AHCI, but when I do that I get the 7B BSOD until I switch it back to IDE. I'd prefer to not have to format and reinstall windows to get it in AHCI, especially since I'm not 100% sure that AHCI is going to help that much, but my SSD seems really sluggish. Anyone have any thoughts on why it's running slow or how to get it to accept the change to AHCI? Thanks a ton!

My system specs are on my profile. Attached is my system health report and my dump files, along with a snapshot of a SSD speed test I did. Sorry it's in german, but I think you can kinda get the picture from it. In addition I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64, which I installed myself (full retail version) last week.

I would suggest: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/149969-ssd-install-transfer-operating-system.html, switch to AHCI mode, and then transfer the OS again.
