Hi :)
I am having in my minf this question for more then a year, but i am asking it now because i got a brand new internet.

Can i somehow, with special tools run HD 720p movies? i was trying to do taht, but for me topgear 720p audio was more late then video, and i cant fix it. Simpsons 720p runs great.
My computer spesification:
OS: microsoft windows xp sp3 x32 (apsolutely legal, buyed from microsoft)
CPU: Pentium4 1.6ghz, overclocked up to 1.71ghz(but i can overclock it to 2ghz :) )
RAM: 1gb kingston 200mhz
GPU: nvidia fx5200 128mb 270mhz
MOTHER: biostar p4m80-m4
HDD: WD 7200rpm IDE 320gb

So can my oldy somehow run 720p? :)
p.s. yes i know this is windows7 forums, but please, all people here are so polite and friendly, so i am asking my questions here, i hope you are not angry because of it :o

The only thing that can help you offload the decode process is to upgrade your video card, BUT good luck finding a relatively new graphic chip with AGP on it...

uum actually its not a graphical problem, it is as i know CPU problem... my graphic card runs it perfectly, but cpu sometimes lags, so audio is too late for video

Err... you don't understand my point, do you? To help your very slow CPU to decode that huge dataset we know as 720p video, you need more processing power. Naturally you can upgrade your CPU to keep up with the data flow so that it won't chug while decoding (the async problem is one of the symptoms). To easily add more "horse power" to your rig, I suggested that you upgrade your display adapter, why? Because the modern graphic chips can decode the video stream without ANY CPU help, thus relieving your CPU from the decoding job thus accelerating the whole process with minimal CPU load impact.

Edit: I think you can even decode 1080p with new display adapters without breaking any sweat...

Not to sound cruel or anything but:

The system specs you list are just barely adeqate to run Win XP.

Asking this set up to decode and play back HD content smoothly while keeping up to par with essential tasks to run the system, is asking alot.

The only way to help, without spending alot of $$ is as zzz2496 has suggested.
A graphics Card Capable of decoding HD Video without much need for the CPU.

More RAM may also help.

AS it is, your using the PF often, which is going to impact HD perforance as well.

You should really upgrade the system. Sadly, I think you will likely have issues even with a newer GPU, because it will bottlenecked.
