Solved 1st BSOD on "New" laptop with New OS Install

Hello so i have had this laptop for about 2 weeks i got it used from a family friend for free i wiped out his previous OS (XP) and installed my own Windows 7 Home Premium 32it

i got a random BSOD but it was weird the BSOD Screen was REALLY small writing I couldn't even read most of it

its a Dual Core with 1.5gb Ram its a ACER Travel mate 4200

How To Find Drivers:

ok im kinda a little confused i went to the DRT and looked for the drivers but there was no way to "download/update" the driver

The DRT only gives you the link to find the driver. Use it to get and download it. IE Conexant: Support

I am afraid you are the only one who can answer that. I can tell you what each of those are and then it is up to you to go there and find the correct one for your mobo.

The modem drivers probably will not have updates. This is common, and very rarely causes problems. Did you find a driver update for the ENE PCI Secure Digital/MMC Card Reader driver?

I Have Not been able to find it (also that might fix my people that I made a thread about a day again about how my sd card slot doesn't work), so how would I find the right driver for it?

Install the Card Reader driver from Acer Support: Downloads & Support Documents - Notebook / TravelMate / TravelMate 4200 you may have to install in XP or Vista compatibility mode. OK I installed the Drive with Vista Compatibility and the SD Card slot still doesn't work, i made a thread about this 4 days ago and nobody has answered it yet (http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware...l-mate-4200-sd-slot-problems.html#post1943560)

So I bounced things back and forth with some other gurus, and the general consensus about your memory card issue is that the drivers are not handling the devices in Windows 7 due to their age. You will probably just have to deal with the SD to USB adapter and make do the best you can.

Sorry I did not have better news on that front.

I am glad to see the system has been stable since you posted, though.

OK i had a feeling that would be the final result, thanks for all your time tho
and yea im glad its running great too i have been using it pretty good "trying" to put it under a heavy load and it still doesn't crash so that's good
